Program

Background of the meeting

Our project needs to explore ways for integrating knowledge related to citizen-science;
improve the technical foundations to foster the impact of citizen science globally.

The meeting will be used to make decisions and do hands-on work. We will move ahead on:

1) International acceptance. Concerning the international acceptance of what we proposed last year, where are we? What should be done with the ontology? What can we learn from this for future updates of the international model? Which items should be discussed and agreed on in relation to the CSA 2019 conference? How to get more visibility through conference presentations and journal publications?

2) Implementations of our model and application tooling. How can we promote (partial) implementations of our model? And how might we support and benefit of the OGC activity and recent developments on GEOSS? How to contribute to the standardisation of the contribution of citizen science to SDGs? Do we need specific tools that will help others to use the standards that we develop?

3) Ontology development and engineering. How to formalise more modules of the ontology and defining realistic work practices. Can we set up sub-groups that work on the different 'layers' (project, data set and data) so that we also advance on the latter two models? Can we use the documentation style as last autumn for communication and agreements?
